Our favorite hikes at a glance
Astental
From Mörtschach, take the car (or for the very sporty, a bike) about 14 km steeply up the mountain toward Asten. Drive to the end of the road and park at the Sadnighaus alpine inn at 1,876 meters. From there, follow the signs to Kröllalm. You can either continue uphill to the waterfall and Mohar summit or head back down to the Astner Moos and return to Sadnighaus. A gentle hike through a stunning alpine landscape.
From Glocknerblick to Mohar
From the campsite, drive about 6 km along the main road toward Heiligenblut. In Sagritz, turn right and follow the signs to the Glocknerblick alpine inn. From there, hike up the mountain to the summit cross. On the way back, you can opt for the alternative circular route.
Guggenberger Circular Trail
Behind the campsite, head up the mountain toward the herb meadows. At the first fork, turn left and follow the path through the forest toward Mörtschach. Pass by the church and continue toward the main road, keeping to the right. Cross the bridge at the gas station and follow the cycle path along the Möll River back to the campsite. Duration: approximately 1.5 hours.
Stampfen Circular Trail
The Stampfen Circular Trail starts with the Guggenberger Circular Trail near the campsite heading toward Mörtschach. About 200 meters before reaching the main road in the village, a small path branches off to the right toward Stampfen. Follow this path and cross the main road at the next bridge to return to the campsite along the cycle path.
